To get banished enter the mission with one other person and hench. Make sure you have a lower maximum health than your partner and Shiro should banish you.

Check Livingstons excellent guide to Canthan Grandmaster Cartographer for the suggestions on unfogging remainder of you map.

Thanx for that.

Was just looking at livingstones guide as i received notification of your post.

Shyft the Pyros section looks like it will be the most informative as information similar to this helped me complete the final few percents of the Tyria map. I personally find the map comparison method a huge headache (doesnt help that i'm almost blind hehe)

Best to systematically explore each point Shyft refers to for those last points of map I think.

I got Canthan g-master about a month ago, with my Tyrian character. All in all, it was MUCH easier than getting the same with Tyria.

I wish I still knew the link, but somewhere in the Canthan 100% Exploration thread, someone had put up all the maps, blow up, with circles around potential overlooked areas -- corners, crannies, places you don't think you should be able to reach.

Couple of special tips though:

1. Don't forget any of the challenge areas. There were a few of these I didn't even know where challenge areas (Aurios Mines for example).

2. This may not help you, but it helped me that I was in a middle-of-the-road alliance, where our held town kept shifting from one outpost to the next, including several Kurzick towns when the line shifted into their territory. Some of those exclusive areas got me a few tenths.

Those maps are not in the main thread, its in the other sticky, 'Livingston's guide...' and I HIGHLY recommend it. You can also still reach 100% Cantha with a Tyrian who has never held a town even with the buggin maps in undercity and the first challenge mission, I did and still have a known spot or 3 left to clear.

Yeah already explored the challenge missions but thanks for tip anyway.

Just by revisiting Minister Cho's Estate gave me over 1% yesterday so i'm confident i'll soon have this title maxed. I'm on 97.7% and have barely investigated the tips in Livingstones guide - the ones with the maps with circles.

I heard the was an outpost luxon territory called Eredon Terrace where if u have access to the special area you can uncover 0.3%ish of map. Does anyone know whether if you are to invited as a guest by the guild who currently own an outpost you can access the special area or do u have to be a member of their alliance or guild? Maybe i can bribe them to invite me as a guest if so.

Once I max this title i'm just the new elites away from being Kind of a Big Deall!!!

I tried being invited as a guest - it doesnt allow you to access the guild only areas I am afraid - sorry.

My Tyrian GM is now stuck on 99.8 Cantha

Back to wall licking for me.......

I'm assuming you cant be taken into special areas if you form a party with people who have access either? Baaah! if so.

I remember my last couple of points on the Tyria map pffft. Don't give up you WILL get there. I'm 98% now just by licking another area of Noobster Island

Hope these links help:

http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10046173
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10050465

The first link explains how to clear the area of Divine Path, the second link shows how you are able to enter the off-limit area of Eredon Terrace.

Good luck

I have Grandmaster cartogragrapher on my Tyrian for both Tyria and Cantha.
I didn't have to get into the restricted area of Eredon Terrace, or the Raisu palace area you need necrotic/rebirth to get to.

Its the posts by Guinivere AC and the method of flipping back and forth between a full map and my map that allowed me to quickly (relatively speaking) finish my Canthan and Tyrian map.

All of Noob island (Shing Jea) is explorable by Tyrian characters, the only caveat is that in order to get to haiju lagoon and the last mission, you must go through jaya bluffs to get there. Kind of coming around the backside.

Hmmm Which part of Raisu palace is there an area you can use necrotic traversal to get to it?

I'm on 98.7% now

Actually that's not true. The monastery overlook isn't explorable for Tyrian characters, at least not while the Festival area is closed, but they are opening it again soon, so that's good.

Most people know that Tyrians can get the title and that the MO isn't needed to get it, but someone revived this thread when it had been dead for months.

This is a prime example of why many people frown on reviving dead threads. As the issue was resolved and made clear before, but now someone has revived it and thus people who hadn't seen it before see the title "Cartographer - Still bugged???" and they think it's something new. Unfortunately, many people won't even look inside the thread, they just assume that it's bugged.

You should never revive an old thread that has a negative title or opening post that has already been resolved. When you revive a thread like this people will take the negative comment and run with it.

This is also why you see many idiots who will get mad at anyone who revives any dead thread. They see the havoc that is caused by negative ones and then they get it into their heads that all dead threads should stay dead, even though if its a positive thread, then there is no logical reason why one shouldn't revive it if the topic interests them.

It would be my suggestion that if people wish to respond to something that has been said in a dead, negative thread that they use the quote feature, cut the quote, and paste it into a new thread, with a title more appropriate to the actual matter that they are wishing to discuss.

For example EveHell (just looked to see who revived it) would have been better served making her post as a new thread or in the "100% Canthan Map Discussion and Help" thread. She would have received even more answers by people more knowledgeable in the area, as many in that thread don't bother reading other threads in this section, and wouldn't have other people thinking that it could possibly be bugged. Which it most definitely isn't and never has been, even before they excluded the MO from the search reqs.
